What Does CoSHH Mean?
The UK Government states that "COSHH is the law that requires employers to control substances". This includes all nanomaterials that are hazardous to health.
There are several steps that an employer can take that ensure they are full CoSHH compliant. The organisation should:
- Identify any materials that are hazardous to health.
- Create risk assessments to prevent and manage risks to health.
- Provide equipment and measures to reduce harm to health.
- Ensure and enforce the use of these measures.
- Keep all equipment and measures in good working order.
- Provide ample training and instruction for all employees & others.
- Track the health of their employees, if appropriate.
- Plan for emergencies.

What is DSEAR Compliance?
DSEAR stands for the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (2002). This forms the primary legislation that apply to the control of any substance. Which could cause a fire or even an explosion. This legislation applies to any workplace or commercial premises, where substances are present. This could be substances they use or produce..

The EU and the UK adopted the GHS guidelines by creating the CLP Regulation. The CLP Regulation came into force in the UK on 20th January 2010. The regulations show exact labels for different materials. Labels can vary depending on the effects that they have to either people or the environment.
